You get what you pay for. The way it's bound, like a paperback book, means it won't stay open on its own. There are no pictures, either in color or in black-and-white. The plus side to having no pictures means there is plenty of room to write even if the calendar is smaller than regular engagement calendars. I took off the plastic cover, which was like the plastic covers that the bank puts your checks in, but it didn't look any better. I ended up not keeping the calendar. There was nothing wrong with it, but there was not enough to get excited about. To replace it, I got a more expensive, regular-sized engagement calendar with spiral binding and full color Doctor Who pictures. I like my new calendar; I just wish there were a 2015 Star Trek calendar like that.
