Here is our chance to see inside the private homes of beautiful, historic Charleston, South Carolina. Each chapter covers one home, all of which are private homes, with the exception of one museum house. One home is an old warehouse renovated in a contemporary style. The rest are traditional styles--some are laid back and cozy; some are very formal and historically correct. Each chapter includes many lavish photographs, a history of the house, and a bit about the current owners. I would have loved to see the floorplans of these houses, but you can't have everything. Now to review this as a Kindle book. First of all, the price difference between the ebook and the hardcover makes this a real deal for Kindle owners. I have a Kindle Touch and the Kindle app on my Ipad. I read it on my Ipad, but I looked through it on my Kindle for the purpose of writing this review. My recommendation is that you only buy this as an ebook if you have an Ipad, or another device that allows you to zoom in on the pictures. My Kindle Touch just did not do justice to the pictures, and I could not see the details. With my Ipad, I could do the "stretch" move on the pictures, so that I could focus in on every little detail, and really study the homes and the décor. So, I recommend it only to those who have a device that has the ability to display photos well.
